My name is Martha, and I am raising funds on behalf of Halima, my friend in Gaza. Please take a moment to read Halima’s story below to learn more about her displacement to Egypt from Gaza and her family’s current dire situation in Gaza.
“Halima, from southern Gaza, has lived for many years with ten members of her family in their modest home. They survived multiple wars on Gaza (2008, 2012, 2014, 2021, 2023, and 2024). But the last war was the most destructive.
Since October 2023, Halima and her family have had to leave their home – the only place they knew a safe haven – and face the risk of death every day. Unfortunately, Halima lost her aunt, cousins, children, and many of her dear family members.
Amid all this sadness, Halima was able to leave Gaza after five months of war to accompany her mother for urgent medical treatment.
Today, Halima is safe, but her heart is still with her family, who is still stuck inside Gaza – without safety, shelter or basic life necessities.
We ask for your help to help Halima save her family, to provide food amid hunger, destruction and high prices. Through your support, Halima will be able to take out her family when the road is opened to start a new and safe life together, away from war and fear.”
